Remember from Whence You Came-Jack Blake

Monday, April 29, 2024

Good Morning,

Where did we disciples come from?  We came from living a life of vanity and pride.  We came from a life of sin.  We came from living in false religions, or no religion at all. We came from the snare of the devil.  We have spent enough of our past lifetime away from God and doing the works of sin.  Then we found the only one who was able to set us free.  We found Jesus.  We have crucified the flesh with its passions and desire and have been buried with Christ in baptism, and raised to walk in a new life.  Walking by faith, we now live and walk in the Spirit.  By the grace of God we are now His children.  Let us glorify, praise, and bring honor to His holy name in all that we do.

God's Protection-Jack Blake

Saturday, April 27, 2024

Good Morning,

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4.8-9).  Though I walk in the midst of trouble,  You will revive me;  You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies. (Psalms 138.7). Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6.9).  Be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord. (Psalms 31.24).  And let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. Thus says the Lord. (John 14.1).

Father, we thank you For Jesus and for Your word. Lord we know we are living now in evil, wicked, troubled times in this world.  Be with us and help us to not grow weary in doing Your good works,  Give us courage and strength to stand firm in the faith and contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.  Steady us that we might always remain steadfast, immovable always abounding in your work Lord, for we know that Your work is not in vain.  In Jesus name we pray. AMEN

Our Individual Responsibility-Jack Blake

Friday, April 26, 2024

Good Morning,

As disciples of Christ we each have individual responsibilities to the Lord our God. Jesus said:  " You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt losses its savour it is good for nothing, but to be cast out, and be trodden under the feet of men.  You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Therefore we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven". (Matthew 5.13-16).  Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick, go to those in prison.  For if we do these things unto one of the least of these, we have done it unto Him. (See Matthew 25.35-40).  But if a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food, and we say to them, depart be warmed and filled; not withstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?  Faith without works is dead, being alone. (James 2.5-17)  God is not unrighteous to forget our work and labor of love which we show toward His name. (Hebrews 6.10).  Brethren these are a very small sample of what our individual responsibilities are.  Can we do better as the salt of the earth and the light of the world?

The Solid Foundation of God-Jack Blake

Thursday, April 25, 2024

Good Morning,

The solid foundation of God stands. having this seal: "the Lord knows those who are His, and let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."  Build your faith on the solid rock, Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Be diligent to grow in the grace and knowledge of God the Father and His beloved Son, Jesus the Christ, who has redeemed us from the bondage of sin.  Flee youthful lusts; pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.  Do not now weary in doing good, and contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the Saints.  Build and maintain your faith and trust on the solid rock of God.

Spiritual Growth-Jack Blake

Wednesday, April 24, 2024

Good Morning,

As disciples in Christ, we are to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen. (2 Peter 3.18).  We grow through study of His word, (2 Timothy 2.15) and meditating on things that are true, just, pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4.8). And beside this we are to add to our faith, for scripture says if these things are in us, and abound, they make us that we shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3.1), and Christ's word will dwell richly in us (Colossians 3.16).

Father, keep us in Your loving care, and help us and guide us to grow in you more and more each day as we travel this pilgrim road to our eternal home with You in heaven. In Jesus name, AMEN.
