“Departing from God-Jack Blake”
Categories: Faithfulness, ObedianceGood Morning,
To depart from God does not change the will of God. To depart from the teachings of Jesus is to depart from the reason for His coming. It is possible for men, even Christians to become weak in their faith and depart from God and return to the world with its wicked ways. Maybe this is why Paul warns, let him who thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10.12). Paul was aware that even he could be a victim of departing from God, for he said: "I keep under my body and bring it into subjection lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. (1 Corinthians 9.27). Each individual is responsible and shall give an account of himself to God. (Romans 14.12; 2 Corinthians 5.10). Pray this not be the case, examine yourself daily to see if there might be in your heart any signs of weakness that would result in departing from our God. Stand firm on His word, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15.58).
