Loving life and seeing good days-Jack Blake
Thursday, February 20, 2025Good Morning, If we are to desire life, to love life, and to see good days, scripture tells us we must keep our tongue from evil and lips from speaking deceit. We must turn from evil, do good, seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3.10-12. James cautions us that the tongue is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. Father, through Your word make us aware of the dangers of our words and deeds. Help us to refrain our lips from evil and our tongues from speaking deceit so we can live and love the good life on earth. In Jesus Name, AMEN
Do You Know My Jesus-Jack Blake
Tuesday, February 11, 2025Good Morning, God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1.5. We can know Him, if we keep His commandments. If we say we know Him and do not keep His commandments, we lie and the truth is not in us. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in Him and by this we know we are in Him. See 1 John 2.3-5. There is a hymn we sing written by William F. Leakey and V. B. Ellis which asks, "Do you know my Jesus, Do you know my friend, have you heard He loves you and that He will abide till the end?" As with all hymns, we should give pause to the meaning of the words.
JOHN 3.16-17-Jack Blake
Thursday, February 06, 2025Good Morning, The words from the above scripture are very comforting and assuring, but can also be taken to mean than we can live our life on earth any way WE choose, because GOD loves us with such great love that He will accept us regardless of our sins and iniquities. kind of an eat, drink, be merry attitude. We should re-read this scripture from time to time and examine our lives in the light of it. To believe in Jesus the Christ, God's beloved Son in Which He is well pleased is to Love Him by knowing and doing His commandments. See John 14. Moses said " Today I have set life and death before you; Choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants." Deuteronomy 30.19. See also Jeremiah 10. May He Bless and keep us as He will this day. AMEN
Am I a Christian?-Jack Blake
Wednesday, January 29, 2025Good Morning, According to scripture, a Christian will crucify the flesh with its passions and desires, deny all ungodliness and worldly lusts and live soberly, righteously and godly keeping self unspotted from the world. Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, the Christian adds to His faith Christian graces that helps him grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, glorifying God and bearing much fruit. A disciple does not love the world or the things in it, but loves God with all his being. Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. Not easy but necessary for Christian living. Father, in Jesus name I need Your help. RE: Galatians 5.24; Titus 2.12; 2 Peter 1.3, 5;James 1.27; Romans 12.2; Hebrews 3.12.
Walk Worthy-Jack Blake
Saturday, January 25, 2025Good Morning, Our world lacks morality and godliness. A world where the ungodly are presented as roll models while the righteous are demonized. Therefore, disciples of Christ must let the world know about the love of God and the power of His salvation through His beloved Son and our Savior, Jesus the Christ, doing His will, and growing our faith by letting Him direct our steps and being fruitful by doing good works. Let us walk worthy of the Lord so the world might see Christ living in us and glorify our Father in heaven.
