The Church Jesus Built-Jack Blake

Wednesday, June 05, 2024

Good Morning

Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious and he who believes in Him will by no means be put to shame.  Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.  A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.  They stumble being disobedient to the word to which they were appointed. (From 1 Peter 2.7-8).  In verse 9 Peter speaks to and of those who follow Christ (Christians), those who believe, obey in all faithfulness, he says you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,  His own special people, that you may proclaim the praise of Him who called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light.  It is Christians who make up Christ's church (Matthew 16.18), the only church that was purchased by His very own blood, (Acts 20.28).

Christ Lives in Me-Jack Blake

Friday, May 17, 2024

Good Morning,

Having been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who lives but Christ lives in me.  And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me. (Galatians 2.20; cf Romans 6).  Having said that, if Christ truly lives in me, I will have the same mind as He; that is being tenderhearted, loving, kind, merciful and forgiving.

Search Me, O my God, and know my heart, try me and know my anxieties.  Search the deep crevices of my heart to see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalms 139.23,24) In Jesus name AMEN.

We Owe Our Lives to Him-Jack Blake

Wednesday, May 15, 2024

Good Morning,

Jesus was betrayed by Judas in the upper room. The other Apostles betrayed Him in the garden and at His trial. Then He was crucified on the cross at Calvary.   Jesus the Christ, the most innocent man who not once violated any law, God's or man's, but was falsely prosecuted and sentenced to die by hanging, not by a rope around His neck, (that would have been too sudden), but by nails driven into His hands, His feet, a crown of thorns crudely pushed on His head and a wounded side so He would suffer great pain. And there He hung between two thieves.  This He accomplished without a vile word, but said:"Father forgive them, they do not know what they do." and at the last said: Father, Into your hand I commit My spirit." He done this for you and for me, by carrying the sins of the world on His shoulders so we might be encouraged with a peace of mind, a settled heart, and a calm spirit.

It does not matter whether you are in Christ or lost in the world's affairs, know this we owe our lives to Him.

God's Chosen One-Jack Blake

Greetings,

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16.16), who has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and has commanded us to go and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28.18,19).  If we love Him we will keep His commandments, I say it again, if we love Him we will keep His commandments.  He is the way, the truth, and the life, and the only way to the Father is through Him (John 14.6).  He is the Son of God (John 20.31), and the son of man (Luke 22.48).  He is our hope and faith and mystery of godliness (1 Timothy 1.1, 14; 3.16).  He is God's chosen one to descend from His heavenly place to this low ground of sin and sorrow, to suffer and die for the world's sin.  Jesus is all of this and so much more, to Him I owe my life.

A Righteous Standard for Judgement-Jack Blake

Tuesday, March 19, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

Jesus said: "If anyone hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge Him for I did not come to judge the world but to save it.  The one who rejects Me and does not receive My words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge Him on the last day."

Jesus Christ is the righteous judge whom we all will stand in front of on that last day to give account for things done on earth, whether good or bad.  Jesus does not want to condemn man, and there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.  If we repent, we will stand before Him forgiven and justified, not because of our greatness, but because of His love, grace and actions He took on our behalf.  True, all have sinned, but it is also true that all can be justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Him.

It sounds frightening to say we must all stand before the judgement seat of Christ, but Judgement for the obedient means salvation, not condemnation.  We have a choice, step into the light of Christ, or learn what staying in darkness means.

Christ will make no mistakes at judgement, for He knows the hearts of all.  God be thanked for sending us His beloved Son in whom is redemption and eternal life and for His inspired word by which we will be judged.
