Be Not Ashamed-Jack Blake
Friday, March 14, 2025Be not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1.16. For in the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith as it is written, the righteous shall live by faith. Romans 1.17. The gospel is the righteousness of God revealed. Do not be like the Jews who rejected the the gospel thinking thry could have salvation by their own Jewish system of morality. Only God, who is our sovereign ruler has the right to set the way of salvation separating those who will be saved and those who will be lost. Through the death of Jesus, the door of forgiveness has been open to all the world, to all who will obey His gospel. Christ died so we might live! There is no other way but His. See John 14.6.
Obay and Do Good-Jack Blake
Wednesday, March 05, 2025Good Morning, According to the scripture, to obey is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15.22. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Proverbs 21.3. But, do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices, God is well pleased. Hebrews 13.16.
Near to the heart of God-Jack Blake
Saturday, March 01, 2025Good Morning, To draw near to the heart of God requires us to love Him with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind. If we abide in Him we ought also to walk with Him in the light of His word, not fulfilling the fleshly lusts of this world as we once did. Father, help me this day to love You with all my being drawing ever nearer to thee without reservation. Help me to walk with You letting You guide me to my eternal home. In Jesus name, AMEN
Loving life and seeing good days-Jack Blake
Thursday, February 20, 2025Good Morning, If we are to desire life, to love life, and to see good days, scripture tells us we must keep our tongue from evil and lips from speaking deceit. We must turn from evil, do good, seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3.10-12. James cautions us that the tongue is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. Father, through Your word make us aware of the dangers of our words and deeds. Help us to refrain our lips from evil and our tongues from speaking deceit so we can live and love the good life on earth. In Jesus Name, AMEN
Do You Know My Jesus-Jack Blake
Tuesday, February 11, 2025Good Morning, God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1.5. We can know Him, if we keep His commandments. If we say we know Him and do not keep His commandments, we lie and the truth is not in us. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in Him and by this we know we are in Him. See 1 John 2.3-5. There is a hymn we sing written by William F. Leakey and V. B. Ellis which asks, "Do you know my Jesus, Do you know my friend, have you heard He loves you and that He will abide till the end?" As with all hymns, we should give pause to the meaning of the words.
