Keep God's Commandments-Jack Blake

Thursday, September 05, 2024

Good Morning,

The whole duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments, said the preacher. Ecclesiastes 12.13. and according to the psalmist, the fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Psalms 111.10.  The wise man said: the fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom.  For by fear of the Lord, one departs from evil. Proverbs 15.33 & Proverbs 16.6.  The psalmist concludes, the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever, His judgements are true and righteous altogether. Psalms 19.9.  Fear God, know and keep His. commandments.

Hard Choices-Jack Blake

Tuesday, September 03, 2024

Good Morning,

In Matthew 7.13,.14 we read: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads too destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."  Jesus said it and I believe it.  Still it is a hard choice to make considering the crooked and perverse generation in which we live.  It seems much easier to go with the flow of the ways of the world, than to take the difficult and narrow way to life.  But those who are disciples of Christ must work diligently and soberly to make the choice of the narrow way if we hope to have eternal life with our God.  We must remind ourselves daily that our adversary, the devil is walking around to see who he can devour.  Be careful of choices you make.

Faith and I-Jack Blake

Tuesday, August 13, 2024

GoodMorning,

Faith is more than saying, I know God and I trust God.  Faith is not doing things here and now so we can receive blessings from God in this present life.  No, to me faith is a goal with the end result of going to heaven to be eternally with my savior.  Without faith there is no hope.  Here on this earth I am just a servant of God to do good, avoid evil and help others on their journey through this sin sick world.  Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Enduring Suffering-Jack Blake

Thursday, August 01, 2024

Good Morning,

Paul and the other Apostles, endured much suffering for the cause of Christ.  But their sufferings helped them to be content in whatever circumstances they found themselves in, even in prison, and when we look closely at their teachings, this is a large part of the Christians life.  Take time today to look at all the blessings God showers on us through His word and try harder to make this day and every day, a day of rejoicing just as God meant it to be.

Fruit of Their Ways-Jack Blake

Wednesday, July 17, 2024

Good Morning,

It is the wise man who benefits from the mistakes of others.  One day soon it will be too late to have any gain or profit from those experiences of others and advice they have tried to give us.  The wise man Solomon in Proverbs 1.28-31 described wisdom saying, "then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me.   Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, would have none of My counsel and despised all my reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices.  Pride is the main reason that keeps us from listening to others and profiting from their experiences.  Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16.18.

From my reading of Gary Henry word points. Thanks for reading.
