Commitment-Jack Blake
Tuesday, March 05, 2024Greetings Brethren and Friends,
It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God-Matthew 4.4. But how can we know the words that proceed from the mouth of God unless we read and study them daily? His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue-2 Peter 1.3. We gain knowledge of living a godly life by reading and studying His word. His word teaches us to live justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God -Micah 6. Jesus said, heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words will by no means pass away-Matthew 24.35 . We must be committed to daily study of His words.
God's Word and Man's Choices-Jack Blake
Monday, March 04, 2024Greetings Brethren and Friends,
Man needs to hear and listen carefully to God's word, and here is why. God's word is inspired by God, or rather God breathed. Listen to the Master: "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him... The word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day-John 12.48.
Better listen, better hear, better do, for there are two things that no one can change or escape from.
1. It is appointed for men to DIE once,
2. but after this comes the JUDGEMENT-Hebrews 9.27.
We must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad-2 Corinthians 5.10. God will not make you obey, He gives man choices, but He also gives warnings as to the consequences of disobedient. As for me and my house we choose Jesus. Pray you will also.
I know I have spoke about this a lot...........But
In God's Image-Jack Blake
Saturday, March 02, 2024Greetings Brethren and Friends,
According to the scriptures we (Mankind) are made in the image of God-Genesis 1.27. We were not created in His image as flesh and bones, as some, (even some in the brotherhood) might believe. God is not flesh and bones. In John 4.24, Jesus said, "God is Spirit." Again in Luke 24.39, the Master said, "The spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." That is while he was the son of man. The Hebrew writer said, God is the father of spirits-Hebrews 12.9. And again the Savior said in John 3.6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. These and many other scriptures make clear that it is the spiritual man that was created in God's image. It has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed , we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Read again John 4.24, God is Spirit. We are to be raised a spiritual body-1 Corinthians 15.44.
Let Your Light Show-Jack Blake
Friday, March 01, 2024Greetings Brethren and Friends,
According to the scriptures, though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. If we have not love, we are nothing. We can give to the poor, but if it is done without love, it profits nothing. If we help a struggling brother without love, there is no gain. If we give to the Lord on the first day of the week out of necessity and grudgingly, it is not acceptable to God.
Love is patient and shows kindness. Love does not covet. Love rejoices in truth, not in iniquities. Love bears the burdens of others, believes the truths of God's word, hopes all things, and endures all things. LOVE NEVER FAILS! We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Good works come from a good and honest heart and are shown in the conduct and character of every true disciple of Christ. LET YOUR LOVE SHOW and YOUR LIGHT SHINE so others can see your good works and glorify Our Father in heaven who created us to do His good works.
RE: My reading from 1 Corinthians 13; Ephesians 2.10; Matthew 5.16.
Acts of Love
Thursday, February 29, 2024Greetings Brethren and Friends,
It was a work of love that Jesus laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. How does the love of God abide in one who has the worlds goods, but shuts up his heart against a brother in need? The child of God must love in deed and in truth, not in word or tongue. Jesus told His disciples, and by extension us, that we should feed the hungry, and give drink to the thirsty, cloth the naked, visit the sick, and take in the stranger. He continues saying, " Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of the heavenly Father."
Father, help us to remove the selfishness from our lives, and to consider and care for those in need, especially those of the household of faith.
In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.
