Faithfulness
Thankfulness-Jack Blake
Monday, September 16, 2024Good Morning,
Paul wrote in his first letter to the church at Corinth about being thankful to God and a reason why. "Thanks be to God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong, let all you do be done with love." As Christ's disciples we must be brave and strong in the work of the Lord, spreading His gospel to others for this is God's will for us.
From 1 Corinthians 15.57-58; 1 Corinthians 16.13-14.
Let Your Love Grow-Jack Blake
Saturday, September 14, 2024Good Morning,
We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. And I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels, nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to to come nor height nor depth nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8..37-39. God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5.8. The love of Christ which surpasses all knowledge so we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3.19. If we are to have the mind of Christ, then we must let our love toward others grow just as His love for us. So let your love grow through study, knowledge and the doing of His commandments.
Hope everyone has a great Saturday. I am looking forward to being with you in the morning to express our love for God through worship.
Whom Will You Serve-Jack Blake
Thursday, September 12, 2024Good Morning,
Seek you FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Matthew 6.33. You cannot serve two masters. Matthew 6.24. He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me, scatters. Consider the cost of discipleship, "whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke 14.33. Then choose for yourself this day whom you will serve. Joshua 24.15.
Hard Choices-Jack Blake
Tuesday, September 03, 2024Good Morning,
In Matthew 7.13,.14 we read: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads too destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Jesus said it and I believe it. Still it is a hard choice to make considering the crooked and perverse generation in which we live. It seems much easier to go with the flow of the ways of the world, than to take the difficult and narrow way to life. But those who are disciples of Christ must work diligently and soberly to make the choice of the narrow way if we hope to have eternal life with our God. We must remind ourselves daily that our adversary, the devil is walking around to see who he can devour. Be careful of choices you make.
The World is Watching-Jack Blake
Monday, August 26, 2024Good Morning,
Disciples of Christ, beware for as we travel through this pilgrim land with our eyes fixed on our heavenly home, the world is watching and our adversary, the devil, is walking about to see who he can devour. Therefore let us remember to walk humbly with our God and conduct our lives according to His will, letting our light so shine that they will see our good works and glorify our Heavenly Father. Matthew 5.16. Let it be known that we have been buried with Christ in baptism, after crucifying the flesh with all its passions and desires. Galatians 5.24. The world is watching.
